PMP Exam Preparation Study Group - North Valley - Winter 2017

Starts February 11 and Concludes April 8

The PMI Phoenix PMP Exam Prep Study Group is a nine week program, held on consecutive Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:00pm. The primary goal of the Study Group is to help you prepare to take the PMP (or CAPM) examination, and to earn your PMP (or CAPM) credential.

This study group is most effective for individuals that have already completed the required 35 credit hours of PMP study either through a prep class or formal boot camp. If you have not taken a prep class, this study group can still be useful but will not be as effective.

The next North Valley program will begin on Saturday, February 11 and will conclude on Saturday, April 8. All 9 sessions will be held at DeVry University, 2149 West Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85021.

Study Group is free to PMI Phoenix members, and $25 per 9 week series for non-members.
Pre-registration is required for all to attend.

You need to own, and bring with you the following two books:
• Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK), 5th Edition (3rd or 4th printing recommended).
• Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Exam Prep Study Guide, 8th Edition.

This first session will be an orientation for this study group. You will be provided with a syllabus, and a schedule of modules that will be covered on which dates. You will be reminded of the materials you will need to bring, an overview of the session format, and expectations for the group.

In past sessions we have found that people committed to taking the exam who attend the study groups on a regular basis, have a very high success rate of passing the exam on the first attempt. It is recognized that life is full of demands and distractions and sometimes you are unable to attend a session. You will still have the schedule and format to keep up with the work missed, even if you don't attend an occasional session. Feel free to share this announcement with others who may be interested in attending.

If you are already a credentialed PMP holder and would be interested in helping to facilitate a study group session, please join us at a study group session or start the process by submitting the volunteer application online Volunteer Application Form. Thanks for helping us and paying it forward!

Meeting Synopsis: Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization founded in 1924, which has grown to over 270,000 members in 13,000 clubs in 116 countries. In 2006, the Phoenix Chapter of PMI sponsored the chartering of ProjectMasters Toastmasters Club, an “open” club where both PMI members and the general public are welcome.

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

You are encouraged to attend a meeting, and see what we’re all about!
