Well, we are in the process of wrapping up our 40th Anniversary and closing out the year with a bang. First, we are right in the middle of the annual Arizona Project Management week. Governor Ducey proclaimed this week as Arizona Project Management week, and there are webinars available, training available and includes International Project Management Day.
Then we have our All Members Meeting on November 14th, starting at 5:15 pm at the Orangetree Golf Resort. This meeting is for all members of the chapter and will contain highlights from 2018, and plans for 2019. I suggest that our members attend if possible, there is no cost for this meeting. That meeting is followed at 6:00 pm with our Evening Chapter Meeting. Don Thoren will speak, the topic is ‘Let Ideas Compete – Not People, Discovering the New and Better 3rd Idea’.
Once we hit December, we will wrap up the year with a new event, a 40th Anniversary Holiday Dinner, being held at Gertrude’s in the Desert Botanical Garden on December 6th. We do have another annual event scheduled in December, AgileUp. The event will be held at the Chandler Innovation Center on December 8th. This is the third year in a row for this event, and with the agenda, we have this year, should be the best year yet. Not a bad way to close out this year, our 40th year as a chapter.
This year, the North American Leadership Meeting was held in Los Angeles, and your chapter sent eleven volunteers to this event. It was a three-day opportunity to meeting with PMI, and other Chapter leaders from around the world. Some of the information we obtained will assist us as we hold our annual Strategy and Goal setting meeting this month. We continue to strive to provide you, our membership, with the value you expect from your membership in the chapter. Attending these types of meetings, and meeting with other chapter leaders help us to innovate new ideas to make the Phoenix Chapter your partner as you continue your career in Project Management.
In closing, I once again want to thank all our volunteers, without them we would not have a Chapter. And without them, we would not have events such as I mentioned above. I appreciate each and every volunteer that supports PMI Phoenix. Thank You!
