It has been some time since my last letter to the membership. We are close to completing our first year in this position, and due to your continued support and modifications to the Chapter by-laws, I am happy to say that we are excited to move forward into the second year in office.
This coming year, 2018, will be a very exciting year for the Phoenix Chapter as it is the 40th Anniversary of the Chapter. We will start the year off with a visit from one of the PMI Board Members, Randy Black, who will present information about the PMI Talent Triangle at our January Dinner meeting. Please note, this meeting has been moved to January 11, 2018 at Orangetree.
We follow that off in February with a visit from the ‘Grandfather” of Project Management, Dr. Harold Kerzner. He will be here in Phoenix and hold a class on the ‘Future of Project Management”. We are looking for over 300 to attend this terrific opportunity, and there will be more information to follow.
Now, in March we have something very special planned, one of the PMI Founding Fathers, James R. Snyder, will be our March Dinner Meeting speaker. He will share with us the History of both PMI and the Phoenix Chapter.
Lastly, I want to mention that we are still looking for a VP of Professional Development. This position will require a PMP Certification, and will sit on the Board of Directors of the chapter. Please let me know if you are interested in this position.
I want to thank all our volunteers for their time dedication and hard work that helps make this chapter move forward. Without the volunteers tireless efforts, we could not provide the value you all expect from your chapter membership. We have a great team of volunteers within our chapter at all levels, and I look forward to working with every one of them to make the Phoenix Chapter the best in the world.
