It is February of our 40th year as a chapter, and you’re once in a Lifetime event is coming in three weeks. This is your chance to hear from one of the thought leaders in Project Management, Dr Harold Kerzner. He will be here at the University of Phoenix on February 20th to present the Future of Project Management, with a social hour to follow so you all have a chance to meet him, introduce yourselves, and gain some real world insight into your Profession. I hope to see many of you at this event as it will be well worth the time.
We follow that up with a terrific dinner meeting on March 14th, having one of the Founding Fathers of PMI, James Snyder, as our guest presenter. James has a great presentation on the History of PMI and the Phoenix Chapter, and once again, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and hear one of the Founding Father of our professional organization.
For those that were fortunate to it in on last year’s classes with Dr. James Brown, he is returning in May with 2 new classes, and will be our May dinner speaker. Please pass the word to your colleagues on how much you learned from Dr. Brown at last year’s classes, and the value that your received in attending. And of course, please attend the dinner meeting to gain more insight on Project Management from Dr. Brown.
We have kicked off our 2018 training schedule with a couple of opportunities for PMP training, and Project Management Fundamentals. We will have several more training and professional development classes throughout 2018, so please watch the website and calendar for those opportunities.
Also, we have several Social Networking events in the works, with the first one being February 13th, and Canyon Grill 49. This venue is next door to Grand Canyon University, and I look forward to meeting those that attend. There will more Social Networking throughout the year so watch the calendar.
And lastly for February, we are starting a new Breakfast meeting in the West valley at Luke Air Force Base, at the Falcon Dunes Golf Course. These breakfast meetings will be held the first Monday of every month so if you are in the West valley, come and attend.
PMI Phoenix is a total volunteer non-profit organization, and we can always use volunteers that have time available to help us continue to support our membership. I appreciate every volunteer, and please accept my “Thank You” to all our current and future volunteers. Your time and dedication is greatly appreciated. We will have more to follow for 2018, our 40th year, with numerous opportunities for PDU’s, Networking, Training and Professional Development so stay tuned as we celebrate our 40th year together.
