ProjectMasters - Toastmasters
Meeting Synopsis: Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization founded in 1924, which has grown to over 270,000 members in 13,000 clubs in 116 countries. In 2006, the Phoenix Chapter of PMI sponsored the chartering of ProjectMasters Toastmasters Club, an “open” club where both PMI members and the general public are welcome.
The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
You are encouraged to attend a meeting, and see what we’re all about!
Speaker(s): Up to four club members present prepared speeches at each meeting, which are evaluated by fellow members mentioning their strengths and making at least one suggestion for improvement. There is also a segment in which members and guests are invited to practice extemporaneous speaking by answering questions asked by the Table Topics Master.
Fees: International dues are $6 per month, and club dues are $1 per month, collected twice annually, prorated. There is a one-time New Member fee of $20.00, which registers the new member with Toastmasters International and provides the two basic manuals, Competent Communicator and Competent Leader, each containing ten projects.

PDUs (Professional Development Units): Club members may claim 1.5 PDUs per meeting. Guests may claim one meeting’s PDUs.
Registration: No registration required; just attend!
Cancellation Policy: N/A
Notice: Guests are welcome to attend as many times as they want to before joining. However, PDUs may only be claimed for one meeting at which one is a guest. After that, one must become a member to claim PDUs.
