SPEAKERS / PRESENTATIONS FOR AGILE UP:
“Arizona State University (ASU) Innovation from an Agile Project Management Perspective”
Warick Pond, PMP CSM - Executive Director, ASU Strategic Implementation Office.
A certified Project Management Professional and Scrum master managing a team of QA, program & project managers within a #PMO #PPM at Arizona State University. Warick and his team are on a mission to provide expert knowledge and value in project management best practices, methods, and tools for enterprise IT projects across Arizona State University. Warick will share the ASU vision of innovation, from an Agile perspective, as it pertains to project management and implementation. U.S. News and World Report have named ASU as the most “innovative university” four years in a row (September 9, 2018; https://asunow.asu.edu/20180909-asu-news-ranked-most-innovative-US-school-fourth-time).
“The Journey to Agility at American Express”
Danielle Crop, VP of Application Experience and Platforms at American Express.
Danielle shares her journey in helping the 168-year-old financial services giant transition into an AGILE organization. Amex is fundamentally a digital company – they’ve never had brick-and-mortar branches – and have always been customer-centric. Today the challenge they face is the new ways of working within the organization. Some teams, such as marketing, that have traditionally used project management within their own silo, now have visibility into and are dependent on product teams to drive value.
Learn how Amex approaches “scaling agility” through a center of excellence with deep product understanding and expertise that works closely with both the technology teams and the business. Danielle also touches on some of the emerging technology American Express is using such as machine learning and AI.
“Leveraging Kanban to create the Agile Organization”
Dimitri Ponomareff, renowned AGILE public speaker, coach, facilitator; and co-founder of Kanban Zone.
As Agile is more accepted as the way to develop software in organizations, some software teams and groups in IT are also becoming Agile, but in using Kanban as their chosen Agile methodology. By leveraging Kanban in addition to Scrum, other groups in the organization like marketing, legal, finance, sales, etc... are also embracing Agile by using Kanban boards to improve the way their business processes flow across the organization. Dimitri shares his vast experience to illustrate how organizations have introduced Kanban across levels and functions of their organizations. You will learn Kanban and walk away with real examples/techniques that you can implement immediately within your organization.
Last year “AGILE UP” had an outstanding turnout and excellent feedback - we look forward to seeing you there!
